Open Health, Marlow

Full of industrial character the Weighbridge building, former home of the Marlow Brewery, now forms part of the HQ for global independent health communications group Open Health.

The adjoining Wethered House unifies the site providing a larger campus for the anchor tenant.

Spratley & Partners were appointed to refurbish and undertake full CAT A & B designs across both buildings, totalling 20,345 SQ. FT GIA.

The internal works included the complete strip-out back to shell replacing the failing underfloor mechanical services. The new layouts enhance the open plan spaces, uncovering pitched roof spaces enabling the buildings original material including oak frames, industrial features and new galvanised exposed services to be expressed.

A key aspect of the design was to create communal and co-working spaces to support creativity and collaboration within a central hub. High quality joinery was interweaved throughout to provide warmth and texture; including feature areas to branded gable walls, cladding to platform lift shafts, meeting pods and finishes within the WCs.
