Sam George

Sam joined Spratley & Partners in 2008 and graduated from London Metropolitan University in 2010. Sam's final year project was published in Blueprint Magazine 'Best Student Projects in Britain 2010'.

Sam is an experienced architect and designs and delivers schemes across all sectors. He has recently completed the refurbishment of 90-98 Union Street for the prime Southwark market and Croxley Amenity Hub, a gym, café, event space and marketing suite on Croxley Business Park in Watford.

As Director, Sam leads best-practice in design, detailing and innovation. His ability to create concepts coupled with his exceptional technical knowledge ensures that projects are beautifully crafted and provide the best possible design solution.

In 2021 Sam became an equity holder in Spratley & Partners.

Chris Kelly

Chris began working at Spratley & Partners in 2009. While studying at The University of Greenwich, his DipArch work was nominated for a RIBA Silver Medal, a RIBA Dissertation Medal and nominated for the 3D Reid Student Prize. He became a Director in 2019.

Chris's skill in 3D Design and visualisation enables Spratley & Partners to explore innovative options at the concept stages of design. He was responsible for the concept development on commercial projects including St James's Square, High Street Kensington and Soho Square. His recently completed projects include Union House, a significant office refurbishment and roof retrofit in Southwark and Bacres, the development of an extensive private residence in Buckinghamshire.

As Director, Chris leads our Bristol office and helps lead best-practice in design within the practice. As our innovation champion he ensures each brief is fully explored and developed.

Robert joined Spratley & Partners in 2007 after graduating from Oxford Brookes University where he specialised in Urban Design. He became a Director in 2015.

Rob designs and delivers schemes across the commercial, residential and public sectors. He is experienced at designing technically challenging projects including the refurbishment and rooftop extension at The Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research at the John Radcliffe hospital campus. Rob is currently working on 21 St James's Square, the substantial refurbishment of an historically significant office building in central London.

As Director, Rob has responsibility for establishing best practice within the technical design and delivery teams. This enables us to remain at the forefront of BIM and ensures our people, processes and technology deliver exceptional projects.

In 2021 Robert became an equity holder in Spratley & Partners.

Stephen Smith

Stephen joined Spratley & Partners in 2007 after graduating with a distinction from Oxford Brookes University. He was shortlisted for the prestigious RIBA President Silver Medal for his postgraduate work and became a Director in 2015.

Stephen has been key to designing projects across the commercial, residential and public sectors including the RIBA award winning Ruskin School of Art. His current projects include a 30,000 sq ft new-build HQ and manufacturing facility for British watchmaker, Bremont and One Neathouse Place - a 700+ room office to hotel conversion in Westminster, London.

As a Director, he is responsible for overseeing the design of our projects. Stephen works at the forefront of the design process, consistently succeeding at balancing design excellence with end user experience and commercial drivers.

In 2021 Stephen became an equity holder in Spratley & Partners.

Sarah joined Spratley & Partners in 2008 after working at Hopkins Architects on projects in their commercial, education, retail and civic sectors. She graduated in 2002 from The Bartlett, University College London and became a director in 2015.

Sarah designs and delivers schemes across all sectors and leads on projects in the hotel and hospitality sector. Recent projects include Hurley House Hotel, a boutique hotel and restaurant in Berkshire. She is currently completing Heckfield Place, a five-star luxury hotel and spa in Hampshire and is part of the team designing a 30,000 sq ft new-build HQ and manufacturing facility for British watchmaker, Bremont.

As a Director, she has responsibility for practice management including human resources, project resourcing and training. Sarah plays a vital role in delivering the business strategy, ensuring Spratley & Partners are able to deliver the best service possible to our clients.

Gregg Thatcher

Gregg joined Spratley & Partners in 2014 from Ridge and he became a Director in 2022. He is co-founder of The Oxford BIM Hub and lectures in this specialist area. Gregg graduated from Southampton Solent University with a CIAT Award for Outstanding Graduating Student.

Gregg manages the delivery of projects across all sectors. He was responsible for the delivery of the RIBA award-winning Ruskin School of Art and Union House, a refurbishment and extensive roof retrofit in Southwark. He is currently working on One Neathouse Place - a 700+ room office to hotel conversion in Westminster, London.

As Director, Gregg leads the team on best practice in the detailed design process and delivery stages. BIM is high on our agenda and he ensures we remain at the forefront of technological advancement.

Jeremy Spratley

Jeremy founded Spratley & Partners in 2003 after a successful career in commercial architecture at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) and AEDAS. Jeremy leads and shapes the practice alongside the senior management team, overseeing all functions of the business.

An experienced architect, Jeremy was a key influence on projects such as Beechwood, a contemporary, new-build private residence in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and South 60, a new-build commercial office on the Chineham Business Park. Jeremy is currently working on The Field House, a new-build residential project in Cookham and Hoxton Square, a rooftop extension creating two split-level penthouse apartments in London.

Jeremy is a widely respected architect and recently gave an OxArch Lecture on Resilience at Oxford Brookes University. Jeremy has set up architectural prizes and bursaries for architecture students and established the practices connection with the charity LandAid.

Veronica Sanchez

Veronica graduated from the University of A Coruña in Spain with a Master's degree in Architecture and Urban Planning. She worked as Principal Architect in Spain for Invedra Proxecta and at Jak Studio LLP in London before joining Spratley & Partners in 2013.

Veronica designs and delivers projects across all sectors and has recently completed Cat A office refurbishments at Caldecotte Business Park and 33 Soho Square. She is currently the architect for Hoxton Square, a commercial residential project in London and is a member of the team working on a 30,000 sq ft new-build HQ and manufacturing facility for British watch-maker, Bremont.

As Associate Director, Veronica has extensive experience in all design stages and runs projects on site.

Claire Paterson

Claire joined Spratley & Partners in 2006 after working for a number of London practices, including TTSP and Sheppard Robson. Across the public, commercial and healthcare sectors, Claire designed and delivered a wide range of projects, particularly dealing with Listed buildings, most notably the Palace of Westminster and Old Admiralty Building for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Claire became an Associate in 2018.

Since graduating from the University of Nottingham in 1989, Claire has gained nearly 25 years qualified experience in delivering multidisciplinary design schemes and leads on projects in the high-end residential, education and leisure sectors.

Claire’s recent projects include; Science & Technology laboratories and Art & Music Department facilities for a notable Buckinghamshire Prep School, refurbishment and extension of a number of important Listed residences in Marlow and Henley and the Listed Manor House at Heckfield Place. Claire is currently Project Architect for the development of a 120-guest wedding venue from a group of historic agricultural buildings, the design and delivery of a new orangery and pool house for a high profile client in Hambleden Valley and for planning and tender stages of a 9,500 sq ft new-build private residential project on an exclusive road in Beaconsfield.

As Associate, Claire is responsible for leading best-practice in quality assurance, working closely with Director Sam George.

David joined Spratley & Partners in 2019 and became an associate in 2021. He studied at Strathclyde University and completed his part 3 at the Architectural Association.

David has a background in a wide range of sectors including commercial, retail, private residential and student residential. He has experience in practices in Bristol and Scotland, and is a key member of the Bristol office, working across all stages of projects with a keen eye for technical detail. David works closely with the practice management team, undertaking a key role in the administration processes.

David is currently working on a number of commercial projects, including delivering S&P's first Bristol office refurbishment on site, and developing outline schemes for a number of large scale redevelopment sites in the city centre.

Sheldon joined Spratley & Partners in 2018 after working at Batessmart in Sydney, Bennetts Associates in London and Oxford Architects, across all sectors. Graduating in 2007 from Nottingham University, he was shortlisted for the prestigious RIBA President Silver Medal for his postgraduate work. Sheldon became an Associate in 2019.

Sheldon has 11 years qualified experience delivering multidisciplinary design schemes across the commercial sector. His key projects include 5,000 — 90,000 sq ft Cat A office refurbishments in Maplewood, Basingstoke and Winnersh Triangle, Reading for Frasers Property.

As an Associate, Sheldon leads our projects in the commercial sector.
