Retrofit Wins

Spratley & Partners is delighted to announce that Building 3000 has won the best recycled/refurbished workspace at the prestigious British Council for Offices South of England and South Wales regional awards, impressing the judges with its proactive use of retrofit initiatives.

The award recognises the best corporate or commercial building where significant work has been done to adapt the existing building to modern office use.

Spratley & Partners were appointed to develop proposals to refurbish building 3000 creating a cohesive campus feel and a sustainable, flexible office setup. The successful transformation has created a benchmark for the client’s inaugural venture in the UK & Europe, enhancing the campus’s overall appeal.

Judges praised the visual aesthetics of the refurbished workspaces, noting that the striking, progressive design did not compromise the building’s functionality. The project meets both occupier needs and commercial requirements, offering wellness spaces like a rooftop terrace, end-of-journey facilities, and high-quality office areas. A central atrium serves as a communal focal point, fostering a sense of community.

We’re looking forward to October when all the winners of the regional awards will be entered into the national awards. A huge thank you to everyone involved.
