The Wing – Bremont

This new-build HQ for luxury British watchmaker Bremont is situated within the grounds of a private estate, facing onto the fields of the Black Bears Polo Club.

Our design was inspired by the Bremont principles of; Aviation, Engineering and Adventure. The custom-made facility is set to become the home of British watchmaking and will be both luxurious and functional.

S&P modelled the key operational areas extensively using VR software, enabling stakeholder engagement and helping to inform the final design.

The unique manufacturing process for highly engineered chronometers requires dust free and acoustically controlled environments. To meet these requirements the building form has two separate, single span spaces to accommodate the manufacturing and office facilities with a link building nestling between.

The low slung curved roof is a highly insulated and ecological green roof. Landscaping, commissioned with Andy Sturgeon, will create beautiful external spaces for visitors and employees to enjoy.

The space will house manufacturing, assembly, commercial offices, a museum of British Watchmaking and a boutique display space.

The vision here for Bremont was to really build the home of British watchmaking, reinvigorating a historic British industry but with state of the art technology and facilities. To do this in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way was also crucial for us. As a luxury brand building beautiful products the building needs to emulate this in its design and function. Spratley & Partners has managed to encompass all of this and translate our vision very well indeed.
